Again this year, Morganton Public Safety is raising money and awareness for breast cancer treatment from now through the end of October.
Breast Cancer awareness t-shirts and keychains are on sale now through the end of October. The shirts are $20 for long-sleeve and $15 for short-sleeve. New this year are Breast Cancer Awareness keychains, which cost $5.
All proceeds from the fundraising effort go to fund local mammography services through Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge Morganton.
To order your shirt or keychain for the cause, call Public Safety at 828-437-1211 or stop by the Public Safety headquarters at 304 N. College St.
This is the fourth year Morganton Public Safety has sold t-shirts to raise funds for local mammography services. The fundraiser brought in more than $2,000 in 2017, more than $2,000 in 2016, and approximately $1,400 in 2015.
“This fundraising effort has been growing every year since we started,” said Capt. Keith Bowman. “I hope this year is our biggest yet. It’s a great way to bring awareness to the cause, and we are glad to do our part to help provide much-needed services that aid in the fight against breast cancer.”
